Solar Shield's Halloween Tradition
At Solar Shield, we’ve always been about more than just providing top-quality window treatments to the Kansas City area. We’re passionate about our community, and nothing brings us together quite like a bit of spooky fun! This year marks the 4th anniversary of a beloved tradition that’s close to our hearts—the transformation of Solar Shield President, Tim Sanders, house into one of the most talked-about Halloween displays in the Northland.

A Halloween House Like No Other
Ever since 2020, Tim has been turning his home into a Halloween spectacle that draws visitors from all over the city. Each year, he raises the bar with new and creative decorations and creations that leave everyone in awe. From ghosts that seem to float around the roofline to toxic fog bubbles that light up when they hit the driveway, every inch of his property is a testament to his love for Halloween and his commitment to creating a magical experience for everyone who stops by, young and old. But this isn’t just a solo endeavor. The entire Solar Shield team comes together each year to help Tim bring his vision to life. We take pride in being part of this community event, contributing our time, energy, and creativity to make sure that each Halloween is more spectacular than the last. Tim’s Halloween display has become more than just a local attraction—it’s a viral sensation! With over 18 million views on TikTok, people from across the world have watched Tim’s planning, execution and display come to life. His videos showcasing the display have captured the imaginations of viewers far and wide who tune in to see what’s next for the holiday display.

Where Do the Ideas Come From?
Tim gets asked the same question every year… “What’s next?” The process of planning the next Halloween display is a creative journey that Tim takes very seriously and the ideas come to him all year long. His idea for the fog bubbles came from an inspirational visit to the Dark Forest at Powell Gardens a few years ago. As well as his use of lighting and fog to really add some serious Halloween magic. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and Tim is always looking for new creative ways to bring his ideas to life.
